Staple Dresses You Need In Your Wardrobe This Winter

66

Winter is just around the corner, so it might be time to add to your dress collection! Rather than buying dresses specifically for the events you have coming up, wearing them once and then changing your mind, we’re introducing absolute staple dresses that you won’t only wear multiple times this season, but also for years to come! Invest in a couple of staple dresses for your winter wardrobe and we promise you’ll get plenty of wear out of them. Plus, whether you have a lower budget or a higher one, these choices can be found with any budget. So, let’s get into it and help you to find your latest winter wardrobe dress obsessions!

A Little Black Dress

First up, we have an absolute staple, which are little black dresses. Get yourself a good quality little black dress and it’ll stay with you for years! They come in all kinds of different designs and materials, however we like to keep it simple with a mini dress, perhaps with long sleeves, just to keep your styling options really open. Plus, the long sleeves give that bit of extra warmth for the cooler months.

Firstly, you can wear your little black dress just as it is, with heels and a clutch, for a timeless night out look. Go bolder with your hair and makeup, or keep the whole look super sleek and simple. You could also add a blazer and swap out the heels for heeled boots, which makes a great look for brunch with the girls or a date night. Match the colour of your shoes and blazer, then style with a black bag, for an effortless outfit that will always get heads turning. For a cosy daytime look for wandering round Christmas markets, add tights to the look and a cosy gilet, a thick scarf and chunky boots. This is a warm yet really cute look that is ideal for winter. You could also layer your little black dress with a cropped jumper so that it looks like a skirt, whilst again still getting that extra bit of warmth that goes a long way on a cold day.

We hope this shows just how many options you have with a staple little black dress in your wardrobe!

A Turtleneck Jumper Dress

Another essential for the winter months is a turtleneck jumper dress! Choose a nude or brown shade for ultimate wintery feels. You can wear it on its own with a belt around the waist and knee high boots, for a warm yet chic outfit that works for so many occasions. When things are really cold, swap out your knee high boots for thick fleece lined tights and heeled boots. No one will know that you have nice thick tights on! Then add a cropped leather jacket for that bit of edge.

Another option is to keep the tights, but wear with chunkier boots, a nice thick puffer jacket and an oversized scarf, which is the cosiest look of all but the dressier nature of the dress still helps you to feel like you’re dressed up. If you work in an office that’s quite cold, a turtleneck jumper is such a great throw on that will keep you warm all day, so you don’t get distracted by being too chilly! If you love your jumper dress, this is one that we’d recommend buying in a few colours (nude and black are our go-to’s), as you can throw it on and look effortlessly stylish when you don’t know what to wear, then easily dress up or down for every different kind of occasion.

A Red Mini Dress

Last but not least, is any winter wardrobe complete without a red mini dress? We’ve got to include one dress that you can wear for all of your festive activities coming up, as red dresses make the perfect Christmas party dresses, as well as the perfect fit for all of your different activities and also even Christmas day! Red dresses aren’t just for Christmas though, as like our little black dresses and jumper dresses, you can easily dress down with tights and boots, or dress up to the nines by adding gold accessories and a red lip for an ultra festive look! If you’re not a big fan of red, we also love a sparkly dress, or feel free to stick with your little black dress and choose a red lip!
